In January of 2017, Patrick Combs assumed the role of Executive Director of the Nashville Career Advancement Center (NCAC). Prior to joining the NCAC, Mr. Combs oversaw the operations of the one-stop career centers in New York City as the Director of Operations for the NYC Department of Small Business Services’ Workforce Development Division. Mr. Combs began his career in workforce development overseeing military veteran employment initiatives including nationally recognized programs for homeless veterans. Preceding his career in in workforce development, Mr. Combs was a corporate litigator receiving his Juris Doctorate from Fordham University and a Bachelor’s of Sciences from the University of Maryland, College Park.
In his role as Executive Director of the NCAC, Mr. Combs oversees the public workforce system in Davidson, Rutherford, Wilson and Trousdale counties as well as key Metro Nashville initiatives such as Opportunity Now (Nashville’s SYEP) and the Nashville Construction Readiness Partnership. Through this work the NCAC helps to drive equitable economic prosperity in Middle Tennessee by providing individuals aged 14 and older with increased access to sustainable career pathways, connecting jobseekers to employers, training and counseling at any career stage, and strengthening local businesses by preparing a workforce that reflects the skill demands of area employers.
