Sandra Hoffman has a Master of Environmental Planning from Arizona State University and a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from the University of Arizona. Sandra is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners and has served as the Vice President for Professional Development for the Arizona Chapter of the American Planning Association (2014-2016) and is currently serving as the AzPA Treasurer (2017-2019). Sandra Hoffman is the City of Phoenix Planning and Development Department Assistant Director for the Development Division and previously served as the Planning Division Deputy Director. Her Assistant Director responsibilities include oversight of Plan Review, Inspection, and the Annual Facility Program sections as well as the Office of Customer Advocacy.
Previously as the Deputy Director for the Planning Division she was responsible for Long Range Planning, including the General Plan and Village Planning activities as well as annexation equivalency zoning; Current Planning including the Zoning Administrator, counter operations, and public hearings for Planning Commission, Board of Adjustment, Zoning Adjustment and Planning Hearing Officer actions; Site Planning, including site plan review, counter operations, abandonment procedures and abandonment hearings, landscape and hillside reviews as well as lot splits and dedications; and management of the Sign Section, that is responsible for sign review and permitting, inspections and enforcement.
