Sean Crumby currently serves as the Deputy Public Works Director/ City Engineer for the City of Long Beach. The position manages the Engineering Bureau which is comprised of seven divisions: Construction Management, Design, Mobility Programs, Project Management, Storm Water/Environmental Compliance, Transportation Engineering and Capital Improvement. Crumby has served in this capacity since August of 2015 overseeing a staff of 75 with a $21 million operating budget, and a Capital Improvement Program (CIP) budget approaching $100 million annually.

Crumby has a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and is a Registered Professional Civil Engineer in California. He has more than 20 years of experience with time spent in the private sector and at other public agencies in California. His background is in pavement management programs, water and sewer systems, storm water, traffic, coastal projects, GIS systems, roadway construction and building projects.

He participates in professional organizations including the American Public Works Association, American Society of Engineers, and was a recent officer in the City Engineer’s Association of Orange County.
