Katie Dougherty is a Communications Specialist for Anchorage Mayor Ethan Berkowitz. Appointed by Mayor Berkowitz in 2015, she currently leads the Mayor’s social media management and policy, co-chairs a cross-departmental strategic communications team, and writes for the City’s blog, website, and social accounts.

Katie is working on a Master’s degree in Public Administration at the University of Alaska Anchorage, and has an undergraduate degree in Political Science from Colorado College (2014).  She has previously held positions in the federal government, non-profit, and private sectors, where her portfolio has included transportation policy, community gardens and local food production, military and veteran’s affairs, early childhood education, and environmental regulation.
