Andrea Gaffney is the Bay Design Analyst for the San Francisco Bay Conservation and Development Commission (BCDC.) As part of her role at this small California State Agency, she evaluates development proposals for conformance with Commission policies, reviews plans pursuant to Commission permits, provides advice regarding the nature and design of shoreline public access, and acts as secretary to and liaison with the Commission Design Review Board.
Prior to BCDC, Gaffney worked for a wide range of architecture, landscape architecture, and urban design firms around the country. She has taught various courses at the College of Environmental Design at UC Berkeley since 2011.
Gaffney holds a Bachelor of Architecture from Cornell University and a Master of Landscape Architecture and a Master of City Planning from the University of California at Berkeley.
